Cars today are not like your old 57 Chevy or Ford. Today’s automobiles not only consist of complex mechanical components but also a host of electronic systems that monitor and control your vehicle’s operation. They provide engine and transmission management, ignition, radio, carputers, telematics, GPS navigation, in-car entertainment systems, and many other systems that we’ve become increasingly used to. Electronic systems have become an increasingly large component cost of automobiles today, increasing from only around 1% of its value in 1950 to around 30% in 2010.

Would you like to learn more about your cars electronic systems? Join us for a great Tech Talk video-teleconference (VTC) on Saturday, May 2nd at 1 pm (EDT) Hosted by Peachtree Section VP Gary Edwards and presented by MBCA National Technical Advisor George Murphy who will present “Care of Your Electronic Mercedes Benz”. Owners of high-tech Mercedes Benz are beginning to find out that all those electronics and the diagnosis of their troubles are expensive. George will cover tips on what to do when the warranty runs out on your electronic Mercedes Benz. He’ll explore questions such as “What will these cars be like in 20 years?” and “How will we restore them?”. Following his presentation, we have plenty of time for questions and answers on this, or any other Mercedes topic.
