The McPherson College C.A.R.S. (College Automotive Restoration Students) Show is Saturday, May 7, so dust off your daily driver or pampered princess and join us at the show!
McPherson confers the nation’s only four-year bachelor’s degree in automotive restoration technology, and these talented students have a day-full of sights for you. You can expect approximately 350 to 400 vehicles of all descriptions plus some of the college’s class projects, which go on to compete in premiere national shows. At times during the show, McPherson students will be leading tours of their facilities and projects in progress. Plus live music and a timed student Model T assembly you have to see to believe.
We’re meeting up with the Wichita Section on the display grounds in an area reserved just for MBCA members. Although food is available on the premises, you won’t have to worry about lunch as a catered BBQ buffet is being served up courtesy of MBCA and the Wichita Section.
The on-campus display grounds open for placement at 8 a.m. and the McPherson Campus is about 180 miles WSW of Overland Park, so plan your trip accordingly. You may want to set two alarms if you're driving there in the early morning hours, but it will be absolutely worth it.
The event is a fundraiser for the automotive restoration program, and registration to park on the display grounds is required. Until the pre-registration deadline of April 22, the discounted rate is $15 per vehicle. If you want to have your Benz judged (optional), you must register by April 22. Thereafter, registration for display only continues at $25 per vehicle. Online registration is available through May 3. Thereafter, registration is only available at the event.
