A poker run has been planned by the Ozark and Eastern Oklahoma Sections, to include stops at several casinos, all in the eastern Oklahoma area on Saturday, April 9, 2022. This run has been designed to start at the Amish Cheese House just north of Hwy. 412 on Hwy. 69. At this location we will draw the first of five playing cards. The next three locations will be casinos; however, due to a problem with what we actually wanted for the final casino, we had to look for a place that could seat our group with a good lunch. The Cherokee Casino in West Siloam does not have the large restaurant/buffet that had been there for numerous years. A restaurant in Siloam Springs is being looked at, and it will be revealed later after we get close to a total count for reservations. Cost to take part in the drawings will $10.00, as it has been with all our poker runs. The winner, determined by the total value of the five playing cards, will receive one half of the pot. The other half will be divided by the two sections. In case of a tie, a card will be picked by both to determine a winner. A map will be handed out at the first location with all needed information, including the lead car’s cell phone number. Other instructions will be discussed at this time, and entry fees will be collected here also. After the first card is drawn and the value of the playing card is posted, we will leave going south down Hwy. 69 to the first casino, in Muskogee, where the second card will be drawn, and so on. During the dry run, we determined the total half circle of roads to be around 125 miles from Chouteau and back up to Siloam. This should be a lot of fun. For any questions, please don't hesitate to contact John Kushnerick or me, John Miller. We are asking both sections to meet around 10:00 a.m. at the Cheese House and try to leave within 20 or 30 minutes. Considering 30 minutes of gaming at the middle three casinos, we are hoping to arrive at Siloam Springs around 2 to 2:30 p.m. We realize this may be a late lunch for all, but it was the best we could do with the casinos available and close to the route we wanted. If little interest to gamble occurs at any casino, we could leave a little earlier. If you are interested in a day of fun on April 9, contact John Miller (for Ozark Section members) at 479-996-3129 or [email protected] or John Kushnerick (for Eastern Oklahoma Section members) at [email protected]
