This year German American Day at Carl Schurz Park will be held Saturday, August 13.

The Park is once again asking that MBCA members bring their cars and join the Park’s German American Day Parade.

The parade starts at noon, and I encourage you to arrive no later than 11:00 a.m., as they want cars lined up well in advance of the start.  Older Mercedes and Cabriolets especially wanted.

Admission to the Park is free for those participating in the parade and their guests.

For other MBCA members who wish to attend, the admission charge is $5.00 if you register and pay by July 30.  Wristbands are required to enter the park (see below), and due to the logistics involved we must have your registration and payment by July 30 for the $5.00 rate.

After July 30, anyone who wants to attend will have to pay $7.00 at the door.  However the Park is limiting admission to 1,500 non-park members this year, so if you don't register in advance you may not be able to attend the event.

After the parade you're encouraged to stay around and enjoy great food, good German beer and gemütlichkeit on the private grounds of Carl Schurz Park.  All food and beverages must be purchased in the park, no carry-ins allowed.  You must purchase tickets for food and beverages separate from admission.

If you plan to attend, please let Bruce Hamilton know as soon as you can.  You can either call or email Bruce, 608.754.6066 or [email protected].  Be sure and mention whether you will participate in the parade, or just want to attend the event.

For those just attending the event, make your check payable to "MBCA-Wisconsin Section" in the amount of $5.00 for each person who will attend.  Mail your check to:

Remember, we must have both your name and your payment by July 30!

Those who attend must have a wrist band regardless of whether you participate in the parade or just want to enjoy the day.  Bruce will have those for you when you arrive at the park.

I hope you can join us for German American Day!
