My name is Dan Hughes, I have been an MBCA member a number of years. My love for the Mercedes-Benz automobiles began in an unexpected way, with the passing of my uncle in the fall of 2005, I was given the honor of ownership of his 1970 280SEL. While I am no stranger to classic cars, I would have never imagined the impact this car would have on my life. I have since owned a 1981 240D with manual transmission, a 1973 450SL, a 1959 220S "garage find", and a 1976 300D as my daily driver. While I still cherish American hot rods and trucks among various other European and Asian classics, I am without question an avid and devoted Mercedes-Benz owner and enthusiast for life. I feel now, that through the help of the MBCA, I can share the excitement for Mercedes-Benz and bring new owners and enthusiasts to understand why we love these automobiles so much.
